Community Outreach

McAllen Public Utility supports community events and educational opportunities that help residents learn about water conservation, sustainability, and responsible water use. Below are a few ways MPU connects with the community throughout the year.

Annual Night Out

McAllen Public Utility proudly hosts its Annual Night Out event each April—a fun, family-friendly evening designed to connect the community with the many departments that keep our city running. Guests have the opportunity to meet our dedicated teams, including the Water Education Team, and learn more about the essential services MPU provides. The event is completely free and features food, entertainment, and educational activities for all ages. Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates and event details!

Let’s Share That Water Knowledge at Your Next Event

Would you like the McAllen Public Utility Water Education Team to be part of your next community event? We're excited to share interesting facts about our utility, along with promotional MPU materials to share with our community to “Trust in Every Drop” and “Drink McAllen Water”! Upon request and availability, our team can bring along our mascots, Willy or Wendy the Waterdrop, to make your event even more fun and engaging! Please complete the request form to invite our team—we look forward to connecting with you and your community! To request our Water Education Team at your next community event, please Katia Falcon, Water Education and Communications Coordinator, at kfalcon@mcallen.net.
