McAllen Public Utilities Utility Billing staff

The main functionality of the Utility Billing department is to ensure that accounts with consumption exceptions are reviewed, and all accounts are billed, statements are printed, and mailed out as scheduled by the assigned billing cycle. The accounts billed include, and are not limited to the following McAllen Public Utility services: Water, Wastewater, Sprinkler, and Reuse; in addition to Sanitation services from the Public Works division, and Drainage Fees from the Engineering Department.

  1. Date of bill statement
  2. Customer Number
  3. 7-digit account number
  4. Service period dates for water
  5. Bill amount is due on this date
  6. Total amount due includes any current or past due balance
  7. Previous balance includes any payments or any forwarded balance to this bill due balance
  8. Water usage is reflected in thousand gallons, with charges based on the current city ordinance rates
  9. Sewer commodity is based on water usage, with charges based on current city ordinance rates; reuse services are available, when applicable
  10. Total sanitation charges (flat rate for all lot sizes) + recycle fee + brush fee *commercial dumpster or roll-off charges are included under sanitation (based on the current city ordinance rates)
  11. Drainage utility fee is a user fee for drainage related services provided by the city of McAllen
  12. Under water use, the meter numbers (water and/or sprinkler) will appear including previous, current read, days of water service, and usage
  13. Usage is calculated in thousands of gallons (for example 16.4 = 16,400)
